Committees

Grants, Lloyd Smith (Acting): Pursue and manage grants from federal and state agencies for fire safety planning and fuel reduction projects. Fundraising, Vacant: Raise funds for the general operating costs of the council. Chipper Days, Don Davis: Organize and coordinate Chipper days in the Kern River Valley that will significantly reduce the fuel load on private properties. Call (760) 376-4116
Speaker’s Bureau, Lloyd Smith: Organize and coordinate presentations to businesses, organizations, and groups in the Kern River Valley to enhance the common understanding of the KRVFSC, defensible space, and wildland fire protect for your homes.
Publicity, Lloyd Smith: Promote the Kern River Valley fire Safe Council as a force in the community that has a difference in a producing a fire safe community. Website, Penny Lampkins: Working with the Webmaster, Thomas Simon, maintain the Council's website to provide information and access to the Council's services, to provide information about the council and its programs, and to solicit volunteer effort and funds to support the Council's work.
Education, Terry Bolt: Develop educational material and events to promote fire safe environments and attitudes among our Kern River Valley constituents.
